I wanna write my OCs without progressing at all in Pixels and Polugons (logic). So.
Any of my buddies up for any roleplay?~ Either in a 1x1 or in a group, whatever you like. I literally have no ideas, so feel free to pick which of my OCs you want me to be (writing them all is fun) if there's something you wanna do. I'm just here to dope around with my dorks, not to be picky.
((I don't mind, so if you would like to get into what little we've got, you can.))
(I'll just get myself into this one, since it's still earlier and not like anything big has built up here yet. I need an excuse to do something with Competer and since Lissa's using his roommate... why not?)
Sundays were a perfect type of day for someone like Competer. The week was so full of deadlines and obligations; forms to fill out and projects to hand in and just general bustling about. Pete has no problem with busying himself with things, so long as they involved rolling some dice or shuffling some cards. Multi-tasking on assignments was not his preferred kind of bustling, so lazy afternoons like today, with nowhere to be and nothing to do, were really enjoyable. Wandering aimlessly around the commons, he looked for something fun to occupy his free time, while saying his hellos and sharing friendly remarks with those he crossed paths with.
Eventually, he floated his way towards a large, rather comfy looking chair in one particular corner of the room, where an androgynous figure (after knowing them for several weeks, Competer had yet to decide whether they looked like a slightly masculine female or a mildly feminine male, not that it mattered) with their nose buried in a book. The monitor-faced boy cracked a smile at the sight of the candy kid, with whom he had become decently friendly.
Peering over their shoulder, Pete sneaked a peek at the massive amounts of text covering the pages of his roommate's book. "'Cha readin', Scotch?" he asked casually.
Their peace interrupted so suddenly, they couldn't help but let a small gasp escape them. Scotch looked up with a start, frantically looking around for the source of the noise, only to discover the moniter of a computer over their shoulder. Ah. It was just Competer, Scotch's unconventional-looking roommate. "Don't startle me like that!" They said, though they didn't sound too upset with the computer. Besides, it was hard to alert someone that you were coming when you had no feet.
Scotch shifted a bit so they could more properly look at their roommate without straining their neck, then looked back down at the book. "I-it's for Science. Mr. Walker has us studying medicines, because, y'know, there's a lot of them." This was a huge understatement, considering the thickness of the thing. They couldn't help but contemplate the idea of letting Magnilde tutor them--All things considered this was her area of expertise--But they quickly reconsidered that notion. Last time they visited that 'nurse', she'd begun music on just what would happen if she gave them a proper vivisection, because they were kinda papery-cardboardy-lookin' and who knew? Her cackle afterwards made their previous assumption that they were joking a little...Questionable.
"...A lot a lot. Kind of stunning how it's such a reoccuring theme that it became a whole unit."
"Medicines, huh?" said Competer, reaching for the book and leafing through the pages. Though he had a full understanding of feelings, he seemed unaware of the fact that he had invaded Scotch's personal space. He flipped through the huge volume, while using one finger to bookmark the page Scotch was reading. "There sure are a heck of a lot of 'em." he commented.
When he was done looking at all the multi-syllabic words he couldn't begin to pronounce and the complex diagrams of how they affected the human body, he passed the book back to it's owner. "Looks like a pretty lengthy read. D'you have to memorize all of that for class?" Pete didn't have science this semester, so he had no idea whether Mr. Walker was a tough teacher or not. Still, it would be nice to know.
"Oh, no--Not all--At least, not all right now. Maybe we'll do all later. I...I don't know." They took the book back, looking down to the page, blinking slowly. "...Yes, a lot. And this isn't even getting to the surgery unit, I mean...Amateur Surgeon, Surgeon Simulator...Really, the only safe bet is Trauma Center, and even then..." A small laugh escaped them, though they knew at this point they were just filling dead air. The book shut. Of all things, Scotch could hardly understand how most people talked so casually to their roommate. But then again, Scotch was sort of a quiet...Person. It just felt strange to them to be here, in the dorm commons, trying to be casual. Augh.
"So, er...What's been going on with you?" They smile, internalizing awkwardness they're sure they're just making up. "Anything interesting?"
Peter shrugged, or at least shrugged as well as person without properly articulated shoulder joints could shrug. Maybe one day he'd ask his mother to build him some better shoulders, he thought, his mind straying a little off topic for a moment. Shoulders would be nice.
"Not really." replied the robot conversationally. "Mostly just enjoyin' the afternoon. Since we have classes an' all again tomorrow. I've been relaxin', sayin' hi to a couple of people. Just generally hangin' out." Competer was pretty much the polar opposite of Scotch when it came to things like conversation. He could be pretty talkative if he wanted to be, chatting about whatever happened to come into his head (like shoulders, for example) happily. He just didn't get that for some people, talking freely like this didn't come naturally.
"Oh," added Peter, nearly forgetting, "I was also wonderin', you seen Aster around? Little guy, lotsa arms?" The sight of the huge book had reminded him that the spider had borrowed a textbook from him (there was a shortage in their math class, so some people had to share) and he needed it back.
((Attempting to include Jazz here, so if you'd like to jump in, you're welcome to it. ^^))
((eee and I'll jump right in here and watch until I think there's an entrance for me ;D))
((Though I can't say for sure whether I speak on the behalf of everyone, I don't think anybody has a problem with you joining us, Pippy. But if you do, I'm going to regret not using one of my Portal OCs, because I just know you'll use Glaia or Callie or one of those cuties for this. ^^ I'm pretty sure you can jump in whenever.))
((Of course you can join! ^^ Also everyone feel free to use more then one OC because considering the gang we've got here I'm going to have to bring in everyone's favorite (the one who isn't Sofia, because she's inexplicably popular).
[TED voice] SOON))
"...Aster?" Scotch had to pause for a while. Little guy...Lots of arms...? They closed their eyes and pinched the bridge of their nose, as though trying to remember. It took a moment, but soon the arm retreated and their eyes opened. "Um...White hair, right? He's...He's from a Kirby game?" Okay, those two things didn't really add much--There were a lot of Kirby students--But it seemed to clear something up in their own head. "Um...If we're thinking of the same person...Then no, not around recently. We don't...I guess we don't really talk much." They rubbed the back of their neck, smiling sheepishly. L.O.G. help me. When it came time to fufill papa's role, they were gonna do horribly if they couldn't even help out a friend. "Sorry. Er...Why, may I ask?"
((Ah, splendid! Adding more characters! Then I'll go tell Eppie that she is required. She's been looking for someone to pester for a while and it looks like we have some volunteers.))
"He just borrowed a book from me and I kind of need to back for tomorrow. It's not a big deal, though, it's not super urgent." Competer explained in response. "But if you do see him around, gimme a shout, okay?" That was really all he had to ask Scotch besides exchanging general pleasantries and such, though he had no real plans for the rest of the day and wouldn't mind continuing to talk for a while more. But the candy child looked a bit awkward (Pete had finally taken notice of their uncomfortableness, after all this time) and seemed to already have some things to do.
What do you think?
